Gökşen YÜCEL, M.A.
Goksen Yucel received her bachelor's degree with Honors in Psychology from Bogazici University in 2005. From 2005 through 2006, she attended Prof. Dr. Yanki Yazgan's case consultations and involved with research projects in Marmara University Hospital, Child Psychiatry Clinic. In 2006, she was awarded Fulbright Scholarship and went to the United States to study for her Master's degree in Applied Developmental Psychology at George Mason University. She received her Master's degree in 2008.
During 2007-2008 she completed her internship at Children's National Medical Center, Washington D.C. (rated one of America's best pediatric hospital) in Child Development Clinic. Her internship research study focused on the Social and Communicational Skills in Autism.
In 2008, she returned to Turkey and joined to Gunisigi Child Center team as a developmental psychologist. In the Summer of 2009, she attended The Celebrate the Children-UK annual developmental summer camp for children diagnosed with autism and associated disorders in Wales, UK. Her experience supplemented a little later with the work of the "Haydi Oyuna" Children's Play Groups at Gunisigi Child Center on 2009 September.
In the Summer of 2010, she attended DIR/Floortime Summer Institute in Maryland/USA and get her DIR-B Floortime Certificate as a Floortime therapist. Subsequently, she participated in private and intensive DIR training conducted by DIR faculty member, Rosemary White, OTR/L on 2011 June. She continues to work through DIR-C Floortime Certificate.
She is currently a full time clinician at Gunisigi Child Center and the director of "Haydi Oyuna" play groups.
